Persona Teases Seven Announcements To Celebrate 25th Anniversary
Atlus has revealed some plans to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Persona series with seven announcements over the course of the coming year.
The company announced a new website dedicated solely to the celebrations and the upcoming announcements where they thanked fans for their support in pushing the series to sell more than 15 million copies. The website continued on to promise that there will be seven announcements that will include “25th commemorative goods, various events, collaborations, and of course game information.” The celebrations will kick off in September and will run until Autumn 2022.
That's pretty much all the details they revealed on it but let's speculate a little on what they could possibly show.
I think it's highly likely we'll see Persona 5 Royal or Persona 4: Golden come to other platforms either this year or early next year. At least I could see P5R coming to PC with a possibility of it also hitting Xbox consoles or Nintendo Switch, look I've played Persona 5 three times so I'll probably play it again if it came to Xbox. Lastly, I could see them teasing a Persona 6 with a short trailer similar to how they originally teased Persona 5, so a non-discript trailer basically tells us nothing. Hopefully, they'll finally have some big game news to share with Persona and not just look here buy some merchandise.
Nintendo Switch OLED model is official and coming October
Nintendo has finally revealed a brand new version of the Nintendo Switch which is called the Nintendo Switch OLED Model and it's releasing this October.
The new version includes a 7-inch OLED screen, which Nintendo promises will have more vivid colors and a higher contrast than the original model.
The Nintendo Switch OLED version will also include 64GB of storage which can be easily expanded with a memory card similar to the older models. It also will come with a wider adjustable stand which will provide more viewing angles than before while the device is in tabletop mode. Sadly the new dock is very similar to the older model with the only improvement being the addition of a LAN Port, it'll still only play in 1080P. Lastly, the new model promises to have “enhanced audio” through improved onboard speakers
The Nintendo Switch OLED Model will come in the two stunning colors that include the usual Neon blue/Neon red Joycon or my favorite of two which is a more sleek white version that includes white Joycons and a white dock. Almost all existing Nintendo Switch accessories should work fine with the new hardware, with the exception of some like Nintendo Labo kits which might not work due to the changes in size of the new model.
The Nintendo Switch OLED Model will launch on October 8 and will be priced at $349.99 in the US and it'll equate to around £250 in the UK.
E3 2021 Announced To Begin On June 12
The ESA has officially announced its plans for a virtual E3 this year, confirming that the event will take place between June 12 and June 15 of this year.
Revealed In a press release, the ESA confirmed that multiple publishers will show up show which includes Xbox, Nintendo, Capcom, Ubisoft, Konami, Take-Two Interactive, Warner Bros. Games, Koch Media. They also went on to say that there will be "more to come" who will be "showcasing their latest news and games directly to fans" with the group promising the event's content will be available for free. Lastly, they confirmed that more details such as how viewers will be able to watch the event at a late date.
There are a few notable publishers that seemingly won't be participating in this year's E3 that include Sony, EA, Sega, and Square Enix. Sony hasn't held a show at E3 since 2018 so that isn't too surprising and a similar situation follows with EA focusing on their EA Play event. I am hopeful that SEGA or Square Enix could show up in some fashion at one of the main conferences for Xbox or Nintendo.
Either way, I'm super excited to see E3 return after the garbage fire that was the 2020 gaming announcement shows. Hopefully, this means it won't be spread out over the course of multiple months and is more condensed. I can't go another year of watching 12 different showcases over the course of three months.

Renaissance – Set in Northern Italy, Renaissance pits players against each other on the narrow streets of Venice surrounded by classic architecture and buildings that promote continuous action through the canals and neighborhoods of this iconic city.
Dominion – A re-imagining of the classic Afghan map from Modern Warfare 2, now set on Mars, Dominion retains all the memorable landmarks and gameplay of the original, anchored by the crashed ship in the center, with a few enhancements designed to take advantage of the new movement system.
