a New Arkane Game With Dishonored and Prey Developers In The Works

In an interview with Vandal, Dishonored co-creator Harvey Smith confirmed he's working on a new unannounced game at Arkane Austin. He explained that he had recently moved back to Austin Texas after finishing up development on Dishonored 2 at Arkane's Lyon studio, who's currently working on Deathloop for PS5.

Harvey Smith said the following "I'm not on Deathloop, I'm on something else, working with the guys who made Dishonored and Prey."

Vandal later asked Smith if the soon to be Microsoft acquisition had altered anything at Arkane, to which he replied with that there's been no difference at the moment. He added that, of all possible partners for Bethesda, he'd find it difficult to think of a better one than Microsoft, ending the interview with "They fit perfectly."

While we wait to find out more on this mysterious game, you'll be able to play another Arkane game on May 21 for PS5 and PC called Deathloop.

Persona Soundtrack Comes To Spotify

Atlus has announced that most of the original soundtracks for the Persona games will be dropping onto Spotify.

As a massive nerd for Persona, I'm super stoked to see the soundtrack become easily accessible to listen to. Previously you could only get hold of the soundtrack for the games by purchasing the collector’s edition of the games or via uploads on YouTube.

If you can't tell, this is just a huge ploy to encourage you to go play Persona 5 Royal. Which you should because it's one of, if not the best game that released in 2020.

Hitman 3 New Feature Revealed

IO Interactive has revealed an upcoming feature for Hitman 3. Players will be able to unlock "persistent shortcuts" in levels, which will open up new paths on previously played levels.

Originally revealed by Game Informer, the new shortcuts are said to "encourage exploration, reward curiosity, and incentivize replayability" with players being able to open up new routes by interacting with doors, certain areas, and access points in each level. Agent 47 will then be able to use them during future playthroughs to get to areas of the map faster or to head off a target before they reach a specific destination.

I'm personally looking forward to checking this out for myself when Hitman 3 launches on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC on January 20, 2021.

Nintendo Buying Developer Next Level Games

Nintendo has confirmed today that it will be acquiring Canadian developer Next Level Games, the studio behind Luigi's Mansion 3.

Nintendo is hoping the deal will be sealed by March 1, 2021, pending shareholder approval. Nintendo stated that the deal would "secure the availability of Next Level Games development resources for Nintendo, including development expertise, as well as facilitate an anticipated improvement in development speed and quality by enabling closer communication and exchange of staff with the Nintendo development team."

I'm pretty excited to see what Nintendo has up its sleeves for the developer and hopefully, this means that more Luigi-based adventures in a mansion are on it's way.

Xbox Games With Gold For January 2021

Microsoft has announced the next batch of games coming to games with gold for January 2021 and they're okay, not great though.

the following games are available to grab now if you're a member of Xbox Live:

Little Nightmares (A weird but cool indie game): Available January 1 to 31

Dead Rising (Go Play Dead Rising 4, it's great and super festive): Available January 16 to February 15

The King of Fighters XIII (I'm probably terrible at it): Available January 1 to 15

Breakdown (Had enough of those in 2020): Available January 16 to 31

Games With Gold has been super lackluster since Xbox Game Pass was revealed, Go Get Game Pass Ultimate and treat these additional games as a bonus. Also While we're here, go play Yakuza Zero on the game pass, it's probably the best game on there.

The Year Of Creation

What's up folks and welcome to another blog post. I struggled for so awhile trying to figure out the introduction to this post so I thought I'd just rehash my podcast intro for it.

I have always been able to focus on something and hammer away at it continuously but 2020 kinda took that from me and stomped on it hard. I managed to somehow keep posting daily on Instagram and exercising but everything else went to the wayside.

Content creation is something I’ve always been drawn too and I plan to go bananas in 2021. The Podcast is moving homes from SoundCloud to HelloGhostly.com. This means sadly that either i lose all the current episodes I've created or import them all over, which takes a ton of time. Hopefully, I'll then be able to bring the podcast to more platforms such as Spotify or Amazon Music.

Gaming News is coming back to the website on a weekly basis covering the best news for consoles such as Xbox Series X, PS5, and Nintendo Switch. However, it's gonna be a little bit different as I'll only be covering the news that interests me, and I might inject some opinion along the way.

Lastly, I plan to do another regular feature on the website focusing on content creators in general, I'll be revealing more on that in the near future.

2021 has given me perspective on what's important, My family is always gonna be my first priority but creating is a close second. I plan to create a ton of awesome content over the course of the next year and i can't wait to get started.

Gears Tactics Announced

The Coalition wasn't playing when it comes to E3 announcements this year with a total of three new gears of war games coming in the future. Gears 5 is super exciting and all but i love me some XCOM and Gears Tactics looks like an XCOM game but in the gears universe.

The story is set 12 years prior to the first Gears Of War game. The coalition describes the game as a more aggressive version of a tactic game but with big bad bosses. The game will also allow you to customize your squad.

The Gears Of War official Twitter page as "true PC strategy game where brutal action meets turn-based tactics."

Cuphead DLC Called The Delicious Last Course Coming In 2019 With New Playable Character

Cuphead isn't everyone's cup of tea but for those that loved the game, might be glad to hear there's more on its way. Cuphead and Mugman aren't alone in this next venture, however. The Legendary chalice is back but in the form of Ms. Chalice.

There will also be a bunch of new charms, new bosses, weapons and much more. The Delicious Last Course will be avaiable in 2019

Tom Clancy's The Division 2 Release Date Set For March 2019

Microsoft revealed a hefty load of Division 2 goodness during their E3 conference. Firstly is confirmed the setting of D.C Washington where the United States is on the brink of collasping. Additionally the game is set 6 months after the initial virus outbreak where it will challenge players to partake in a civil war between differing factions. 

Kingdom Hearts 3 Trailer Reveals Frozen World And New Game play

I would be lying to you if I told you I didn't get misty-eyed during that awesome new trailer for Kingdom Hearts 3. Yes, I am a fully grown man and yes I do have an unhealthy love for everything Kingdom Hearts.

The trailer did feature some previously announced worlds such as Rapunzel, Monsters Inc and Toy Story but we also got to see some new combat moves and variation in Disney characters.

Fallout 76 Is A Prequel And Is Four Times Larger Thank Fallout 4

Todd Howard took haste to the Microsoft E3 2018 Briefing this afternoon to showcase a little game called Fallout 76. The game was previously announced last week but we got little to no information on the upcoming nuclear apocalypse simulator.

He revealed that Fallout 76 is set in West Virginia{like the literal song of the first rtailer} but that's not all, it's a prequel to all other fallout games and is four times larger than Fallout 4. That game is already pretty big as it is. {I know "That's what she/he said"]

Microsoft Announce New Halo Game Called Halo Infinite

Microsoft always start their E3 briefing with a bang and this year wasn't any different. Halo Infinite is  the next title in the highly anticipated sci-fi shooter. Microsoft isn't letting slip on any details as of yet other than a new engine called Slipspace. {Get the previous pun? i know it's a bit on the nose}

 

Head Of Xbox Phil Spencer did go on to say that Halo Infinite will be Master Chief's 'greatest adventure yet' as he battles to save humanity. Here's hoping Locke has gone in the way of the dodo as in extinct.

No New Skylanders Game In 2017

No Skylanders Game Coming In 2017

Activision has announced that there will be no new Skylanders game in 2017, however, they have confirmed there will be plenty f Skylanders goodness coming in  2017. Activision Blizzard CEO Thomas Tippl said the following during last night year-end earning call "In 2017, rather than releasing a new console title, we will be supporting the award-winning Skylanders Imaginators with multiple adventure packs, new characters and new in-game content," he then followed up with "We are also excited to bring Skylanders Imaginators to Nintendo Switch as a launch title next month, and we have a new Skylanders mobile game in development."

In addition to the upcoming year of content for Skylanders Imaginators,  they also announced that a new season of Netflix's Skylanders Academy in 2017 followed up with a third in 2018.

After a few weeks of my daughter constantly playing Skylanders Imaginators, i managed to pry it away and get some time in with the game. It's honestly been really refreshing playing something so colourful and just plain old fun. Been nice a break from the drab, gritty art styles that so many games use.

Ghost Recon Wildlands Closed Beta

Ubisoft has confirmed The Ghost Recon Wildlands Closed Beta will take place February 3-6 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Additionally if selected, you'll be able to pre-load the closed beta on February 1st.

"Aspiring Ghosts and their co-op partners will infiltrate the province of tacua where they can work towards dismantling the Santa Blanca cartel in any way they choose," explains Ubisoft. "Players will be able to travel solo or team up with up to three friends in co-op as they take advantage of the wide variety of vehicles, weapons, and equipment available to the Ghosts."

Dirt 4 Release Date Announced

Codemasters has announced the release date for their upcoming driving simulator and it's coming sooner than expected. Dirt 4  will release for Xbox One, PS4 and PC this June. Codemasters said the following in regards to Dirt 4 "DiRT 4 takes the passion and authenticity of off-road racing to the next level, whilst also re-introducing you all to white-knuckle truck and buggy racing in Landrush,"

Infinite Warfare's Rave in the Redwoods zombies DLC Coming Jan 31st

Call Of Duty Infinite Warfare Sabotage DLC Release Date

Infinity Ward has announced the release date for their upcoming DLC for Call Of Duty Infinite Warfare. Rave In Redwood will release on PS4 first on January 31st and then a month later for Xbox One and PC.

Infinity Ward said the following "After escaping the terrifying Zombies in Spaceland, our heroes are transported to an abandoned campground... the perfect site for Willard Wyler’s next horror masterpiece," explains Activision. "Set in the ‘90s, the four actors find themselves in brand new roles, along with some fresh new threads."Together, they’ll team up to take on endless hordes of raver zombies and the mysterious Slasher, who’s on the prowl to add more “trophies” to his collection."

The DLC will also include the following multiplayer maps: 

Noir – A dark, grimy city map inspired by futuristic Brooklyn at night, Noir is a classic three-lane map set against a backdrop of a dystopian future, filled with cafes and parks surrounding a brutal downtown warzone.

Neon – A virtual training center designed for urban warfare, Neon is a unique, digitized battle arena where cars and other structures spawn out of thin air and enemies dissolve into hundreds of pixels when defeated. Middle lane sightlines will cater to long-range players while the outsides of the map allow for quick counter-attacks in close-quarter action.

Renaissance – Set in Northern Italy, Renaissance pits players against each other on the narrow streets of Venice surrounded by classic architecture and buildings that promote continuous action through the canals and neighborhoods of this iconic city.

Dominion – A re-imagining of the classic Afghan map from Modern Warfare 2, now set on Mars, Dominion retains all the memorable landmarks and gameplay of the original, anchored by the crashed ship in the center, with a few enhancements designed to take advantage of the new movement system.

Square Enix Hints at "Exciting Announcement" Coming Tomorrow

Square Enix, the publisher behind such games as Hitman and Tomb raider decided to drop a little tease for something being announced tomorrow. Writing on Twitter they mentioned they'd had some "Exciting Announcement" coming tomorrow (January 26th). We have no idea what the so called announcement could be so I guess just keep your eyes peeled for tomorrow.

We'll follow up tomorrow with hopefully something pretty cool or maybe not. We'll see

Welcome To The New HelloGhostly Website

Firstly welcome to the brand new HelloGhostly website. have a little look around and let me know if you like the new digs or not. So you're probably wondering why the change ? well I ran into many issues with the original host and I needed something that would run fine on its own while I constraint on other avenues like podcasting and live streaming. I didn't really have the time to continually pop back every day to update something or deal with security issues. I needed something simple and easy. I plan to run multiple podcasts and to do that I need time. So long story short I needed more time to work on shows rather than the website. However that doesn't mean I won't be posting here, in fact, I plan to post more. I'll have more time to discuss gaming news, reviews and even chat in the community forums.

Nintendo Switch Release Date And Price Announced

Nintendo just announced the release date for the switch and it's super soon. As previously speculated we assumed the Nintendo Switch would launch in March but who knew it would drop on the 3rd. Yup, its coming 3rd of March and will cost £279.99 and that's just the console with no pack in game. I find this super strange because they also announced a game in the vain of the super popular WII Sports. Personally, I don't really understand why they wouldn't include 1 2 Switch in the bundle. There so close to "possibly" obtaining the same success they had with the Wii.
